Green Spirulina

Description

Spirulina is a cyanobacterium rich in proteins, B vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It is a bioavailable source of all the essential amino acids that dogs require, making it a great addition to your dog’s diet if they are intolerant towards commonly available meat protein sources, or need a protein top-up in their diet. Dogs enjoy eating spirulina in their meals. As a powder, it is easy to mix into their food but should be incorporated gradually into their diet.

Considered a superfood, Spirulina stimulates the immune system and can help with digestive issues (as a prebiotic). It can also help alleviate allergies, reduce inflammation and improve thyroid function. Since Spirulina is nutrient-dense, it can increase your dog’s energy level and alertness, making it a great ingredient for dogs recovering from illness or with low energy and stamina.

Our Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) is cultivated in hygienic and controlled environments to ensure your dog gets the best quality. We source human-grade spirulina that’s lab-tested for nutrients (our current batch of spirulina has 64.7% protein) and is certified safe from heavy metals and harmful microorganisms.

IF FEEDING DAILY, TAKE A BREAK FOR 1 WEEK AFTER EVERY 3 WEEKS.

If your dog is on a meat-based diet or eats other protein sources, please be mindful of their daily protein intake and consult a nutritionist before adding spirulina to their meals. Dogs on a balanced meat-based diet can occasionally enjoy spirulina, but daily intake is not necessary.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Do not use Spirulina for pregnant/ lactating dogs, dogs with autoimmune conditions, bleeding disorders, seafood/shellfish allergies or Phenylketonuria (PKU), dogs on diabetes medication or anti-coagulant, anti-platelet or immunosuppressive medication. Avoid using Spirulina for dogs with major wounds or dogs close to surgery.
